What is a depression and how to overcome it?
#1
Depression is a strong mood involving sadness, discouragement, despair, or hopelessness that lasts for weeks, months, or even longer.
Here are the very practical caveman therapies for modern men and women.

1. Get outside. Our caveman friends saw lots of daylight; getting up at sunrise and going to sleep at sunset. Exposure to bright sunlight for 30 minutes a day either through sunlight or a light made for this, helps keep your internal clock set. This circadian rhythm helps to regulate our sleep/wake cycle and insures a good night’s sleep which in turn, helps our physical and mental health. Don’t wear sunglasses though; the exposure must come through your eyes!

2. Aerobic Exercise. Primitive folks had to forage or work in the fields for their food. 30 minutes at least 3 times a week means those ‘runner’s high’ endorphins get released regularly. It’s also a good way to work through and release stress. You don’t have to run a marathon, just get your heart rate up to your target range - around 120 to 160 beats per minute depending on your age and condition. Walking works wonders. Get your doctor’s approval first!

3. Omega-3 fatty acids. 1,000 mg daily. Omega-3’s aid in the brain’s neuron connectivity. Enteric coated capsules help prevent burping the fishy tasting oil but you can also freeze them. Throw in a good multi-vitamin and avoid overly processed foods in favor of complex carbohydrates (whole grains), fish, free range meats, & vegetables and you’re good to go.

4. Sleep. Change your sleep routine so that it’s more conducive to a good night’s rest. Turn your lights down and go to bed at the same time everynight. Turn the t.v. off. Engage in calming, quiet activities like reading, taking a warm bath, etc. Avoid caffeine and alcohol. Don’t work late or do other stressful activities that cause your mind to race. Remember a tired body and quiet mind are the requirements for quality sleep.

Some severely depressed people need medicines to control their depression, but most people can conquer depression by following the suggestions in this excerpt. Even those people on prescribed medicines for depression will benefit from the suggestions here. If you feel severely depressed, most psychiatrists will use trial and error to find a drug that will help you. But certain blood and urine tests can detect biological depression, pinpoint which drugs are most likely to be effective, and reduce the risk of depression recurring by determining when the biological imbalance ends.

Seek Medical Attention: Depression is a very serious issue and is not something that you should ever take lightly. There are many wonderful advances in medical treatments that can help dramatically with treating the issue. If you do not want to be tied to a prescription, then you need to ask yourself if the everyday blues that you feel are more important to you then at least trying different options that your doctor might have.
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

If you are depressed, you need a plan so that you may stop suffering and attain happiness.

The best solution for you is to start writing down your dreams so that you may interpret them using the method discovered by the famed psychiatrist and psychologist Carl Jung. His research surpassed the limited bounds of medicine in his time. He is a big hero! He dared to attempt a very dangerous research and have an opinion about reality that was completely different from the general opinion of his society.

Research has shown that light therapy is effective in treating seasonal depression. There are two types of phototherapy - treatment with intense light, the patient is placed in front of a lamp for a certain period of time (usually morning) - and simulate sunrise, made during sleep. If the sun sunrise simulation uses a low intensity lamp lights scheduled to start at a certain hour in the morning, gradually to reach interested. Confuseduper

In addition to treatment provided by a specialist, there are numerous studies that show the importance of nutrition in depression. After an experiment, several elderly received during hospitalization or dietary supplements or a placebo medicine besides a healthy diet for 6 weeks. Results showed that if the group who took supplements, vitamin B12 and folate levels increased significantly. A low intake of folate and vitamin B12 is associated with the development of depressive disorders. Some researchers argue that estrogen from birth control pills would cause a deficiency of vitamin B6. Therefore it is recommended to prevent depression using vitamin B6 supplements or foods high in vitamin B6: avocados, bananas, liver, soybeans, poultry and beef, tuna, salmon, peanuts, peanuts. Also, experts say it is important to include in eating flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and vegetable oils. They contain essential fats needed for proper functioning of the brain and vitamin E which protects it. You can press the seeds over from breakfast cereals and oils to use in salads

Besides food, a very important role in combating depression it has movement. Any kind of sport helps, even a 30 minute walk outdoors. As proved to be efficient and meditation. Only, drug therapy should be the last alternative. Do not try to treat one! Before beginning any treatment with antidepressants is necessary to consult doctor and inform about the adverse effects of these drugs.

I find this really interesting, I am a person who has suffered from depression for many years however quite recently I decided enough was enough and rejected the term depression and concluded I suffered from a lack of motivation. I have been searching the internet looking for motivational tips and have developed a series of useful strategies that I use daily. These have been very successful and I now feel great.
I hope other people will read this and think perhaps that's me, So although I am by no means qualified to give anyone any medical advice I would just say consider looking at how to motivate yourself.
Thanks

Holidays come again. Whatever we do to show that we are too busy to realize, no matter how far it would have seemed a few weeks ago, with December the holidays are felt at every step. How you deal with the winter holidays? You get out on the street, see the lights, the people with gifts in hands, precipitations, crowded and increasingly stressed. In the office is discussed just about where you will meet the new year, or about gifts, or the preparation of gifts, food and festive clothing.

Don't have how to escape. And if you can lie in front of them or avoid, or perhaps the colleagues feel and do not ask you, you can not lie to you...
Being alone can be difficult in everyday life, no matter how many other stimulus have in your life, but even more difficult is when there are family holidays, in which each makes his plans with friends and family, spouses or partners, children, dear friends, two with two ....

Think positive. What are the advantages of this moment of your life, just as you are now, with problems that are related to the relationship, family or health? If you manage to find those positive things, it can be and the start of solving problems. For example: if you're angry because you are alone, you will have much less likely to find someone as depressed as you are, unless, you get over and enjoy of what you have, giving yourself the chance to get out in world and maybe even to meet the person you are looking for;

Create your own rituals related to holidays, which give you a better feeling and balance. It does not take a great effort and amazing things. On the contrary, small things which determines to realize you and your wishes, your needs and hopes for the future, the things for which you will thank for and be grateful to, because certainly there are enough;
