Disarmament - ensuring peace
#1
Today Russia destroyed 25% of its chemical weapons arsenal, it's about 10,500 tons. This is an example of what actually countries must do if they are interested in peace. USA should follow the same rule.

Not only USA, I would suggest that the most of Islamic countries do that, 'cause in my opinion they are more dangerous (of course they have to protect against USA, 'cause where there is oil - Bush is near Smile )

I'm not even imagining what will be when nanotechnology and genetics develop enough to be used in war. :oO

If nanotechnolgy is implemented, I think the worst thing can happen is making soldiers invisible. This would be the best weapon for any state.

The future of weapons will consist in: either very small, delicate, computerized weapons or great atomic bombs that can destroy the humanity!

I hope there will be one day, when all countries gather together and sign a treaty of disarmament, let's say by at least 50%. Why not?

Not gonna happen. The world should be ruled by at least one power. The G8 countries will never renounce the weapons.

Maybe it should be created a campaign for nuclear disarmament, where all the world countries could participate. Somekind of UN for disarmament

A full disarmament is impossible. What if aliens attack us, we'll have to use nuclear weapons. Smile

If aliens attack us, it won't last long. Only one "boom" and the Earth is gone.
You Benn watched too much movies like "The independence day"

yes, Americans like to be the heros who save the world. The independence day is a very naive movie

I think this is what America wants the world countries to do - disarm themselves. In turn, the US will never disarm itself, and consequently will become the stroongest power in the world.

It's a good thing we have countries which understand well the situation persisting in the world and will never allow this fact to happen.

do you really think there are countries which understand that? I don't think so. I mean even if they, they close their eyes.

This is G.Bush's argument to keep his anti - missile system all over the world.

By me, no any countries will do the same, it is not in its interest to do so, because no one is sure in the day of tomorrow, no one country is ensured about its safety, and even if it will not use its armament, then they will keep it for safety but no one will destroy it.

Of course it will be better foe everyone, maybe we will live in a peaceful world and maybe the environment situation will be more better. Russia made a good good deal doing that, I think all the countries should do the same.

Disarmament is a good idea. Unluckly it sounds a bit idealistic nowadays. Though I, personally, am for a world union for further space expansion.

Ukraine, Eurasia, Earth, the Solar System, the Milky Way.
Every passing hour brings the Solar System forty-three thousand miles closer to Globular Cluster M13 in Hercules - and still there are some misfits who insist that there is no such thing as progress.
