There are valid reasons to consider and accept Islam to be the religion of peace. Besides the divinity, it’s teaching, application and practice in all aspects of life defines and demonstrates a simple, complete and a total code of life. Islam means peace that originated from Arabic root word – Silm. By definition, Islam is – submitting (of one’s) wills to the will of Allah – the almighty God, the Creator, Savior and the Sustainer of everything in His creations. There is no option but surrendering to Him as He is the supreme controller of us. Life is very personal and precious to anyone but nobody knows nor can guess when and how will be the end to this, nor even estimate the time frame of death. Imagine how helpless we are, how helpless to guess even the happenings to any individual in his next minute. Victims of Tsunami never thought of what happened to them. Therefore, in this helpless situation, whoever or whatever and how stronger one claims him but in reality - without surrendering to Allah no other way remains for the creatures. The sooner people realize it - the better solution to problems can be attained. In this context, the practicality of Islam can be realized by a ready example is available with us – that the cartoon issue. Islam forbids - drawing cartoons or images of human being, back biting, criticism or defaming a fellow human being. If such cartoons were not drawn, no conflicts could have been surfaced today. No one can produce a single instance in the world that a Muslim ever drawn an image of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) nor even of St. Paul who spread the Christianity even after the cartoon caricature. Muslims are told in the Holy Quran that Jesus (pbuh) was one of the mightiest messengers of Allah the almighty God and his mother was a pious lady chosen by Him above all nations. That is enough for a Muslim to follow, love and respect them. No idols or images are required. Who is that person present today in the world that saw Marry the mother of Jesus by his own eyes or having a full size picture to make her statues and idols for selling in the shops? Is this respect? Islam teaches us – how to respect and maintain harmonic relations with a fellow human being towards the universal brotherhood.

Brother ‘Clearman’ has misquoted some of the verses of Holy Quran “totally out of context” either by ignorance or for simply blaming Quran and Islam. Blaming in the sense that out of thousands verses he knowingly selected the very few verses. I can also do that from the Bible out of context but it would be simply biased & unethical on my part as being a Muslim. Within the context, if you look at the world situation today – relevancies of the verses can be found. No one accepts enemy in the battlefield to get himself killed. The world is witnessing the brutality in Iraq today. Somebody in the name of WMD how brutally destroyed a country. Without caring and listening to the world opinion, he has been using his power of deadly weapons over the unarmed children and civilians of all ages. World has been witnessing how is he establishing democracy in that country within the pool of human blood. His people are abusing women, abusing prisoners inside the prison. The Holy Quran has been made shooting targets. People are dying every day round the year. Human being kept in the animal cages of Gitmo bay on suspection without minimum access to justice. Does world not know who is that ‘somebody’ behind all this? Yet the blame should be to Islam or Quran? The famous cartoonist if really he is – should make the cartoons of that ‘somebody’ and engrave it on his forehead together with his associates to show the world how civilized he is and his group. The Holy Quran is the divine revelation from the almighty God as the solution to the problem of mankind. And the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the last and final messenger of Allah was the best demonstrator of peace who in his life time demonstrated the ways to achieve the solutions to the problem of mankind. The holy Quran is only religious book on the face of earth is showing the ways and means of reconciliations - calling the Jew and Christians towards a common platform as “Say (O Muhammad SAW): ”O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a common term that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allâh, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allâh. Then, if they turn away, say: ”Bear witness that we are Muslims.” – Chapter 3:64. Where is the question of killing? If the Jew and Christians were to be killed wherever found – then to whom to apply this verse? Saudi Arabia is the country of 100% Muslim citizens and is the Land from where Islam spread – employing millions of Christians for years without a single evidence of harassing (leave aside the killing) them because of difference in religious faith. The holy Quran is only religious book on the face of earth – teaches unity, harmony, coexistence of human being regardless religion, color, sects, race or languages. Islam is the solution to the problem of mankind.

i think there is abig cultural and knowledge gap between east and west . there are many things are accepted in the west , at the same time it is not accepted in the east ,and vice versa ..personal freedom in the west is a taboo , on the other side believes and religions are a taboos to the eastern peaple.....
so we have to be more carfull about things that we do or say, and to read more about eact others to know and understand.......
i do believe that the authors of history and geography did the right thing and for a noble reason. to spread knowledge and understandig allover the world.not only for just studing.

yes, hilarious, but sure drives home the point, like the "Emporer's New Clothes"....come to think of it, THAT's a DANISH story too, isn't it. Well, like when the old man is accused of violating the child, the volume of his protest in denial so often is a measure of the truth of the accusation. We have nothing to fear from criticising "aliens", "jesus" believers, and so on, if we mock the symbol of their faith, because we know the underlying accusation is not true anyway . So what's so "difficult" about understanding why some folks get angry when you make a criticism based on something true about them. Like the alcoholic who only wants to say "sometimes i just have a bit too much to drink" when he's obviously out of control, and his "knee jerk" reaction is to lash out at the person who pointed it out. So the devout "islam believer" who knows the criticism is true, so lash out at the person who pointed it out, in this case, cartoonist.
