Need of Era – Proof of Truth of Reformer form God

Peace be on you.

The first evidence of truth which proves the truth of a ma’moor [Appointed by Allah] is ‘need of time and era’. Allah the Exalted never does anything which is not according to time and occasion.

He has provided, even for smallest human physical need. It is beyond His grandeur that He does not fulfill spiritual need of human.

Common needs: Creation of universe is not a play, it is done under principle. [Surah ad-Dukhan Ruku 2]  One principle is that when spiritual condition of humanity falls and needs reformer, Allah sends reformer. He has treasures of everything which He send according to certain measure. [al Hajr R2].  He neither brings anything without need, nor He stops sending anything, if it was needed. He fulfills our real asking.[Ibrahim R5]. He fulfills all real needs, which are needed for human nature.

Spiritual needs: Allah says when His servants need guidance, He provides it especially. ‘inna hadaina lalhudaa’ [Surah al-lail, R-1] i.e. He has made it compulsory for Himself to give guidance to servants.

If He had not done so, people could have asked Him on Day of Qiyamat why He made them accountable while He did not send any Hadi [Guide]. Sending punishment without sending Guide is oppression. [al An’am R16]. Allah is not oppressor.

== > So all above points show that when people of an era need guidance, Allah provides it.

In addition to it, Allah has promised that He has sent teaching of Islam and will save it [al Hajr R1]

Safety is of two types; safety of apparent and safety of meanings.
For example, even if skin, beak and feet a dead bird are saved and skin is filled with artificial filling, this bird is not called saved from effects of era. If its beak is broken, feet are damaged and feathers are pulled, it cannot be called saved. Likewise if a Book is changed, some of its sentences are omitted, or it original language is not in use anymore, or Book is not fulfilling purpose, it is not called saved.

Thus, safety of Quran means, safety of its words and safety of its meanings.

Allah took marvelous measures to save words of Quran. Before Quran, Arabic language’s rules, grammar, lexicon etc, were not developed. There were no means to save the language. But after coming of Quran, Allah created ideas in minds of various people to arrange these knowledge in order. Only for the safety of Quran knowledge of sarf, nahw, ma-ani, biyan, tajweed, lughat, idioms, history, fiqah were made.

Among these, Arabic sarf, nahw and lughat are most related with safety of Quran, and are considered advanced in modern era too.

Allah created desire to memorize Quran in millions of people. It phrases are made such that they are neither prose nor poetry. That is why it is easy to memorize.

Another way of saving Quran is obligatory recitation of part of Quran in Salaat.

As Allah made means to safeguard words of Quran, He made means to save Quran’s meaning as well. For safety of meanings of Quran, Allah makes arrangements for re-establishment of effects of Quran on hearts - at the time when people go away from its guidance and their hearts do not feel its effect, and Quran’s light is confined into its words.

Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said Allah will surely raise such people for this ummat, at the start of each century, who shall keep reviving its religion for it. [Abu Dawood] 

This Hadith explains the safety of meanings of Quran which is included in the promise of safety of Quran [words and meanings] in verse: ‘inna nahno nazzalnaz zikra wa inna lahu lahafezoon’ [al Hijr]. It is We Who sent zikr and indee We will be its Guardian.
Hadith tells that the time of advent of the revivers, will be the start of century. It provides a chain of spiritual fortresses. Islam shall never be empty of people who will be either companions of a Mujaddid or companions of such companions. Hence Islam remains saved [unlike other religions whose teaching is changed].

In short, (1) It is found in Quran that Allah the Exalted fulfills physical and spiritual needs of human, especially the spiritual needs because of their vast effect and importance. If Allah does not do so, creation of universe will become useless.  (2) Allah has promised when human will need guidance, Allah will guide them. (3) If Allah does not do so, human can make complaint. (4) If Allah does not send guidance at the hour of need, it will be an oppression and Allah is not oppressor. (5) There is special promise that Allah shall always send guides for Muslim who shall save meanings of Quran. (6) Such people, according to Ahadith, shall appear at the start of century at least.

Ahadith are telling that usually, a need arises at the start of century, someone is appointed by Allah to mention meanings of Quran and explain true Islam for people. [1883 CE = 1301 Hijrah year]. What was state of Muslims in that time or even now?
If condition of Muslims and world is so good that no divine reformer is needed then one should not listen to a claimant.

But if condition of Muslims, and attempts of opponents of Islam, needs that someone should come from Allah to present and teach real Islam, and show its power of revival and defeat opponents, then such a person is needed.

What is condition of Muslims, and what opponents are doing with them? Anyone who does not want to hide reality for some reason, or who has not gone far from humanity to distinguish between good or bad, he will acknowledge that Muslims have, practically and creed-wise, gone away from real Islam. These words of Quran depict the situation ‘ya rabbey inna qom-ittakhazoo hazal qurana mahjura’ [from al Furqan R3] i.e. O my Lord my people indeed treated Quran like as a discarded thing.

Islam is, now, found in Quran, true Ahadith and books of pious scholars but not much in lives of very many followers.

Many of them do not have knowledge of real Islam. If they want to know it, it is difficult because creed is distorted.

Strange beliefs about Holy Being of Allah and Prophets are invented as stories. Abrogation in Quran is devised. A Prophet of Moses’ dispensation is being waited as if Umaat of Muhammad PBUH is unable to bear such a person.

Many do not offer Salaat and do not keep Fast, same is for zakat and Haj. Many non Arabs do not know translation of Salaat’s words. Laws of inheritance are not observed, involvement in financial-interest is common, high morals are not practiced. Loyalty and courage is low, various weaknesses have caused businesses and knowledge to decline.

Some mystics are spreading religion-less-ness in the name of Islam, some clergies are causing hates.

Many rich ones are away from practice, office holders are corrupt. Rulers are busy in luxuries, wazirs in treason, citizens in mutual discords. They have enough time for friends’ gatherings but no time for faith and its service.

In short, state of era is loudly saying that a reformer for Allah is needed – a reformer of great stature, who re-establish real Islam, and contend with disbelief with cutting arguments.
At the start of century [Islamic and Gregorian, 1889 CE = 1307 Hijrah], only one man i.e. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (on whom be peace) claimed that he was Appointed by Allah for promised renaissance of Islam.

Each wise one must ponder his claim, and do not take it superficially, otherwise one will be against an old Divine Law and one will have to answer in the Presence of Allah for his or her negligence.

Some people think that Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) was the perfect guide so now there is no need for any other guide and now Quran is the reformer. This thought seems beautiful. But some pondering at it show it is against Quran, Hadith, wisdom and observation.

Quran and Hadith: These clearly tell comings of appointed ones. Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) prophesied about reformers, how can some people consider it wrong.

Wisdom: Suppose if no reformer was to come, then it must means that state of Muslims should never have deteriorated. But events are seen against it. Wisdom does not accept that Muslims has become weak and weaker but no reformer should come from Allah. In the presence of spiritual decline, means of spiritual progress have to be present.

Allah is Hai [Ever-alive, a giver of life] and Qayyum [Self-existent, Who causes others’ existence] but He sends Prophets, they reflect His Attributes at human level. In other words, manifestations are needed to remind Someone and His effects, Someone Who is away from eyes. So, despite Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) is perfect, his servants are like his manifestation / reflection. They are always needed so that people should remember his (s.a.w.) model by seeing illumined servants.

Observation: In so many years after Holy Prophet (s.a.w.), many followers were granted the honor of Dialogue with Allah. They claimed they were appointed for reformation of faith. They are clearly high model of Islam. In the propagation and establishment of Islam, their role is pointed, e.g. Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi, Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani, Hazrat Shahab ud din Soharwardi, Hazrat Baha ud din Naqsh-bandi, Hazrat Muhyyuddin Ibne Araby,  Hazrat Khawaja Moeen uddin Chisti, Hazrat Sheikh Ahmad Sarhindi Mujaddid Alf Thani,  Hazrat Shah Wali ullah Muhaddis Dehlvi, etc [may Allah have mercy on them]. By knowing about their services for Islam, how can one say that no reformer is needed after Holy Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be on him). Truth is that, after him (s.a.w.), reformers can come, they were coming, and will continue to come.  
                  
In this time, conditions of the era are telling about news of a Grand Reformer. The only Claimant is the Founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

His claim is not of a common reformer, it is of Promised Reformer, i.e Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi.  Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said both are same. His promised coming is start of renaissance of Islam. By prophesying, him being Imam Mahdi, his coming is told as spiritual reflection of his master Holy Prophet PBUH. His coming is in very dangerous time, as prophesied. He has to save real Islam.

Many signs and conditions are found in traditions about era of Promised Messiah (a.s.), but the true conditions in  prophecies about him are those which are mentioned as connected links of chain. Such signs could not be fabricated. These true conditions are about religious, moral, cultural, health, knowledge, international relations, political, heavenly, earthly conditions in the time of Promised Messiah (a.s.). These all conditions fulfilled at the time of Founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
