Taboos and prohibitions

A taboo is a prohibition on human activity declared as sacred and forbidden or dangerous or unclean either physically or spiritually. Breaking a taboo may serious consequences, ranging from imprisonment to social ostracism. Various religions forbid the consumption of certain types of meat. For example, Judaism prescribes a strict set of rules, called Kashrut, regarding what can and cannot be eaten.

In Germany there are many things that are illegal to say or do, for example: one may not deny the Holocaust or make the Hitler salute. Except for skinheads and soccer hooligans.

In Egypt it is impolite to eat everything on a single plate.
Eating with the left hand is also prohibited in the Eastern Countries and Asia, you even should not touch the food with the left hand.

I know that in some countries there is very impolite and even you can offense the owner if you will enter in its house without removing your shoes at the entrance. It is because they are walking in the house without shoes, there is clean on the floor.
