Self-sabotage? And what to do with it

Hi!
Got and unusual and open question to you..
Where is what I have notices about myself.

When I wear extremely nice and new clothes, I tent to spill the coffee on it.
When I am in a group of very powerful people who can help me with something - I tend to drop things and say something stupid.
When I am skiing and meeting friends who are much better skiers and who can teach me something.. I fell.

What is the root cause of such self sabotage? What are the reasons for it and how to change it to something positive?
