If it's base twelve, then 12 would equal fourteen in base 10.

2 times the 6th number = the 12th number

7+7=12 in base 12.

12 in base12 = 1 X 12^1 + 2 X 12^0 (base 10)
= 1 X 12 + 2 X 1 (base 10)
= 12 + 2 (base 10)
12 (base 12) = 14 (base 10)

NOTE: 12^1 = 12
12^0 = 1 (any number raised to the zero power equals 1)

because 7+7=14......unless is 7+7-2=12
