Tractors can ride through a mudy field that a car would readly sink into, even though the difference in wight is no that much. WHY ? What is the difference between the tractor and car?

Big tires. They spread the weight out. So the pressure on the mud is actually less.

The tires.
The weight is mostly at the front of the tractor and the wheels help it balance on the behind.

it's because the tractor has more surface area touching the ground. the tires are larger so the weight is more evenly distributed than a car, which has smaller wheels

It has to deal with size of of the wheels. Tractors have larger wheels and cars smaller wheels. Larger wheel have more area size than small wheels.

since weight of the two are the same, they exert about the same size of force on the mud. However whether they sink or not depends on the pressure the two apply on the mud.

pressure = force / area

Force is the same, so a larger area will exert less pressure, smaller area will exert more pressure.

So cars exert more pressure, and they sink faster.

My BB has a forum for discussion that includes a science and technology forum. You must check here essay writing service in the USA and get more education skills easily. It includes weight which is mostly at the front of the tractor and the wheels help it balance on the field. You can also go to maintaining weight. Join it for more.
