Don’t get emotionally involved with the stupidity of other person. He is in search for his self-punishment. Don’t get too much attached emotionally because you risk losing your dignity. Just set some rules to deal with his stupidity.
For example, a colleague of mine, had a habit of attacking verbally listless people. His motives were to rather funny: he wanted to see at, least once in a life, their sincerely smiling faces. This was rather unreasonable, because he was thinking about listless people more than it was necessary. And very soon his mind got persuaded by thoughts about those people.
Distant yourself from stupidity! Why? Because you may find yourself attached to it and be part of it, consciously or unconsciously.
