1. Aspirin and its relatives, the "nonsteroidal" drugs like ibuprofen, indomethacin, naproxen and many others can set off severe attacks in some patients. It is thought that this is due in part to the fact that these drugs interfere with the body chemicals called prostaglandins which have an important controlling effect on the lungs in asthmatic sufferers. All it takes in some children is one aspirin tablet to cause a violent asthmatic attack.
2. Yellow food dye - Tartrazine is thought to cause asthma in some patients.

Asthma and allergies often go hand-in-hand. Asthma is a disease of the branches of the windpipe (bronchial tubes), which carry air in and out of the lungs. There are several different types of asthma.

Allergic asthma is a type of asthma that is triggered by an allergy (for example, pollen or mold spores). According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, half of the 20 million Americans with asthma have allergic asthma. http://www.webmd.com/allergies/guide/asthma-allergies

Asthma is one of our nation's most common chronic health conditions. Many substances can aggravate allergies or increase the severity of asthma symptoms in individuals who are sensitive to these allergens or irritants.
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Housing factors can play a significant role in respiratory health and greatly exacerbate or increase susceptibility to asthma, allergies, and other respiratory illnesses. For example, numerous home pollutants—dust mites, pet dander, cockroach debris, mold, tobacco smoke, and paint fumes—are known to aggravate asthma. Controlling exposure to these and other triggers in the environment benefits overall respiratory health.

Asthma is a chronic disease in which the airways of the lungs become inflamed or narrowed, resulting in disruptions to normal breathing patterns, often called "attacks" or "episodes." The level of severity of asthma suffered by each individual, and further, the severity of each attack, varies greatly. Symptoms of asthma include wheezing, shortness of breath, a feeling of tightness in the chest, and coughing. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, 8.7 percent of all children (6.3 million) had asthma in 2001. The American Lung Association (ALA) states that asthma accounts for an estimated 3 million lost workdays for adults and 10.1 million lost school days in children annually, making it the leading cause of chronic illness among children. Additionally, ALA ranks asthma among the top ten conditions causing limitation of activity, and the disease costs the United States $16 billion annually.

people may be allergic to a variety of pollens and fungi. Also may be allergic to pets fur and other animals, to dust, vermin and insects such as cockroaches. There are two modes of appearance of symptoms. Symptoms may worsen seasonal, what is called seasonal allergic. On the other hand, substances present throughout the year, such as dust, cause what is called perennial or persistent allergic.

Patients with allergic rhinitis presents 3 main symptoms: pruritus (itching), runny nose and nasal congestion. For itching, antihistamine medicines are probably the best choice. Medicines or antihistamines are available without a prescription. The most common non-sedating antihistamine drugs, so-called second-generation antihistamines are available only by prescription. For rhinorrhea, how good a steroid medication may be inhaled, although antihistamines are also given. Moreover, there are other medicines, such as Atrovent (Ipratropium bromide, nasal spray), which can be used in the therapy of rhinorrhea. Finally, for nasal congestion, the best medication is probably a nasal corticosteroid usage. Ideal for allergic patient is to consult your doctor and therapist for optimal therapy choice for the good of its course. Some of these drugs can and bought without a prescription, some do not. So visit a therapist can be extremely useful, it individualizand patient treatment.
