Electric cars
Electric vehicle research has gone into overdrive recently and MIT's Smart Cities Lab is developing a whole new transportation system for urban environments one element of which could be the stackable City Car.
e-bikes
The Roboscooter follows the same philosophy - clean, green and available anytime anywhere for quick trips. It too charges at its station and folds up for an ultra small footprint.
Robot carers
Many researchers in the US are working to give robots the ability to learn about their environment without the aid of the humans that built them.

Just like in this video - very small to maneouvre easily on the crowded city's streets, it really looks like a vacuum cleaner  . I wonder if people really buy such cars in future, or they won't have choice

Don't laugh because such kind of cars you will use in future, if not you - your children or your children's children. The population of the globe quickly increases and very soon, we will occupy the whole planet and there will be little place for us. Especially on the roads.

It's rather that people will use motorbikes and bicycles, because there will not be enough place for cars. It is noticeable even now, especially in China. More and more people use bicycles. And China is not an exception, there are also a lot of countries in which population uses this means of transport.

That's cool, I'd like to have such a car  . I guess it won't "eat" my money so as my ford does. Progress it's good! But unfortunately it doesn't bring only advantages but also disadvantages :-(

Principal is the future not look like in the movie "fifth element". Bruce Willis will not live until then :haha ! and who will have to save the Planet :quoi ! but if no joke ;-) I expect not to be radical changes! Robots will be but we will certainly dominate! the cars will not fly, simply will find a solution on fuel
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

But a nation or a community with more robots could dominate other nations or communities. For example, we already have drones (planes without pilots). What if we have more of such unmanned warfare machinery, then a rich country like US(just an example, no offence to the Americans) could easily mass produce such machines and gain dominance over other nations because there is no loss of human lives in such engagements. Also, groups like AlQaida won't need suicide bombers in planes to blow up buildings if they buy such machines (although I wonder if they would invest that much in technology when suicide bombers are cheap). Just a wild thought ...

Nice... :tas Peach're right. Nobody should have such power, because if it was so good until now we have lived in the Roman Empire

That's what we thought when wheel the wheel was invented, automobiles came, computers came, spaceshuttles launched, internet came in .... we thought we would save time. But we still work for 8-10 hours a day to live just like the caveman of the stone age. The kind of work we do is different, but nothing majorly has changed. We go out, earn our food, eat, take care of our family, grow up kids.

Yes, man has the same worries, but is not at wood hoe and is not hunting with spears, not living in caves and not walk hundreds of miles... and that's matter...

How does that really matter? We are working equally hard, spending almost same amount of time as in stone ages. How much do we spend with our families? Are we healthier than the people of ancient times? The difference is only marginal.

We work more mentally and not physically ... then the man is glorified through the work, just so we can survive ... today there are not those values and beliefs of the past ...

New Zealanders have created a futuristic bicycle.Bike is called Yike. It was designed and assembled in New Zealand, and the first 100 copies will be put on the market next year. For now, wonder is presented at specialized exhibitions. You travel with it a distance not exceeding 10 kilometers, and loading time is about half an hour.

Impressive. But just looking at the design it doesn't look very manueverable. Also, it's appearance makes me feel that I might fall on my face if I apply a sudden brake

NASA has created a new engine for the space shuttle! The first generation of engines for space shuttle passed the test in the desert Utah. Test, which cost 75 million dollars, attracted a hail of criticism. Bad mouths said they were pointless spending money especially that due to financial problems, NASA could postpone the mission to the moon in 2020. And they say is crisis in America, that they do not have money... :quoi

I hope that this engine has enough power to take all Americans and took in the universe, not to have anymore headaches because of them. But, if not all necessarily, the political cleverness certainly must have place...

I read that was a test of a spaceship anchored horizontal on ground , which will be used over 11 years, when NASA hopes to send a new crew to the moon.
There is no "shuttles" anchored to the ground. It's a solid rocket motor (SRB) made horizontal. It is a simple solid-fuel rocket probably much stronger than that used at the moment, so burning is done in "steps" inside the rocket. So, not a "space ship" but a rocket anchored to the ground. It's a small difference.
