Caffeine - harmless or not?
#1
Today, caffeine is a substance very used,by adults and also by children. The adults may not wake up in the morning without a cup of coffee, and children usually consume cola or other caffeinated beverages. Great question regarding the caffeine like to give a reply about the action of this substance. So: is caffeine good or not? Unfortunately, there is no universal answer It depends mainly on how each body reacts to caffeine. Some people feel more cheerful, more lively and more sociable, even trying a sense of euphoria. But others become irritable and anxious, gets headaches or risk of panic attacks after consuming caffeine.
What about you and your body? How caffeine affects you? what do you know about this substance?
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

In the brain, caffeine acts as an indirect incentive. It blocks the action of the neurotransmitter adenosine, which generally command the brain to settle and sleep. Caffeine molecule resembles adenosine and can "fool" the brain, replacing her on it. Therefore, adenosine is unable to suppress neurotransmitters "inspiring" as dopamine and the brain remains in a constant state of excitability. Besides coffee and tea is a useful depository of caffeine. Though containing only 60 mg of caffeine (about half that of coffee), a cup of tea can help your brain instantly invigorate and improve your performance. So if you do not like coffee you can drink tea, have almost the same effects... Smile

The beneficial effects of caffeine are increased attention and concentration, remove fatigue and decrease reaction times. However, studies have shown that low doses of caffeine have these effects and is no need of huge amounts . Optimal dose of caffeine is 100 to 200 mg - one to two cups of 140 g. You can distribute in two segments schedules: morning and at the end of the afternoon, when the effect of caffeine is removed. Higher doses do not give better results, sometimes even counterproductive.

Confusedhock: I didn't know that! Thanks! :-)

Caffeine can cause sleeplessness and insomnia (since it is a stimulant). To ensure a good nights' sleep, you should avoid drinking caffeine after 6pm.

However, if you are driving while tired, it is advised to stop the car, have a cup of coffee and take a power nap until the caffeine takes effect.

Caffeine can increase the amount of calcium excreted by the body: this is why some people add milk to coffee and tea. Caffeine may also reduce the absorption of some minerals, such as manganese, zinc, & copper, as well as vitamins such as vitamin A & B complex. [http://www.nutrition.com.sg/atd/atdcaffeine.asp#4]

When I need to drive for a long time I prefer energy drinks to coffee, it make me feel better, gives me power and keeps me awake longer than coffee

To me coffee does not work, however It do not hold up me and I want more to sleep after I drink it. Coffee removes the feeling of fatigue for the moment, but after that, people who consumed coffee feel exhausted. The effect it has on body mimic the sensations gived by increasing the amount of adrenaline: caffeine cause rapid heartbeat and gives a state of overdraft to nervous system.

The researchers say that caffeine excess diminishes the ability to concentrate. Studies show that people who does not consume coffee had better results at exams. Caffeine disturbed water balance in the body, leading to dehydration. Sudden renunciation of coffee have side effects that lasts generally one week and may include headache and a feeling of fatigue continued.

Coffee drinking that morning might not be just an energizer for you, suggests recent research findings. Researchers at Bristol University in Britain have conducted a study which found that after a daily intake of caffeine makes you more energetic than normal. The results presented showed that only in people who have avoided coffee for a period, caffeine makes its intended effect. Although study participants said they feel a state of alert following the consumption of caffeine in the morning, experts said that are normal operations of the body after a night of rest. They also added that hardcore coffee drinkers are not more alert than those who do not consume caffeine.

People react differently to caffeine, and some may experience elevations in blood pressure or arrhythmias. For some it is harmless but for others not, because for some people caffeine may be even useful. for example if the person is hypo-tensive then a cup of coffee may be very benefit for this person because caffeine elevate the pressure.
