We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Technician to produce detailed working drawings for the construction of bespoke joinery and high quality furniture for fit-out contracts in London.
Applicants should have experience in technical detailing involving interior fit-outs and shopfitting type installations, with good proven 2D drawing ability. Applicants must be proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate in 3 dimensions, be proactive, dedicated to completing projects on time and have the ability to solve problems in a demanding environment. Knowledge of specialist joinery work would be an advantage. You will be expected to carry work through from site survey to production of working drawings and liaise with our client directly if required.
Key task:
- Assist the Design Co-ordiantor to assess the initial information received from the client's designers and architects.
- Liaise with factory, project manager and client's designers and architects.
- Produce clear, concise, accurate drawings in accordance to deadline/programme as required and to QA standards.
- Update the Design co-ordinator and project manager with progress.
- Check drawings before submitting them for sign-off to the Design co-ordinator.
- Amend drawings according to feedback from design Co-ordinator/Design Manager, Factory project Manager or client.
- Discuss drawing with relevant scheduler and assist production with queries on drawings.
- Liaise with drawing Controller regarding issue of drawings.
- Must be able to speak fluent English. German would be an advantage.
- Should have 3 years proven experience with a good track record which will be checked.
