I and few friends from Oman-Muscat -Middle East are looking to go to Bulgaria for few days around the end of Nov. Just wondering would it be safe for us to travel to Bulgaria and Romania, if anyone who has been before could recommend a city to go to and a hotel to stay in both countries.
thanks

I've never been to Bulgaria, but was in Bucharest and Brasov Romania back in August and had no problems with safety. Like any big city you have to watch out for pickpockets in tourist areas but that happens in London, NY, Paris, San Francisco, etc.
I stayed at the Novotel in Bucharest and was very happy - the location is great, on the main boulevard and close to the old town. I can't remember the name of the hotel in Brasov - it was literally the only place we could find with availability and nothing special. Bella Musica is supposed to be very nice but they were fully booked.
I would love to go back and visit Sighisoara and Sibiu as people we met really liked both cities

OMG! You, people are crazy, I swear! Romania is a normal country, is not full of thieves, murderers and gypsies. Travel to Romania if you want to have a nice surprise.
