I cannot say that I live in Georgia, I try to survive there! And uniquely placed I know that a flow of refugees from my native country has increased greatly now. Well, the rise in immigration has been registered in Georgia since 2007. At first my countrymen have decided to leave their country mainly because of the hard economic situation, or better say, economic disorder, which has forced them to live here below the poverty line. But at that time most of our young people have set big hopes on the new government. Unfortunately, they’ve mistaken. Georgian “democratic” authorities” has done nothing for them and the rest ones, who have preferred to stay here. And now our people begin to flee Saakashvili’s “democracy”. But now over a half of emigrating Georgians are those, who leave this country, trying to escape political persecution of present powers.
And there is no surprise for me that foreigners don’t give a hearty welcome to our refugees georgiatimes . info/en/analysis/19443.html. Now they have also a bad crisis time. I blame our current Georgian leaders, who have played a trick on own people.
Then I blame our US friends, who continue to support their protege, M. Saakashvili, persuading the world that he “is a beacon of democracy and openness”. It turns that they’ve simply covered up Saakashvili’s violation of human rights and democratic freedoms here, as well as, riotous behaviour of our current authorities, including recent fratricidal war in South Ossetia! We’ve believed in American style of democracy, which has been tried to establish here by US best pupil, M. Saakashvili … and we have become hostages of US artful foreign policy!

I have to disappoint you a little ... we all, in some way, are influenced or dependent of the U.S., someone stronger, one less. And grudgingly even we can not do anything in short time as you or your people expect ... to remove America from our life much water should flow down the valley...

How much should we not try to run, the U.S. it still reach us ... and grudgingly do what she wants, not what is best for everybody ... people still have not learn to fight back the invaders, from ancestors ... instead ,they have learned well the tactics to find the culprit ... so guilty are themselves, for allowing the Americans to buy them ... Yes Americans buy ... first, provide material assistance and then claim some kind of satisfaction from that country .... a super efficient tactics that work till nowadays

Al-Qaeda has much to teach us but we need to find a way to govern those tactics so that we do not find ouselves banised to the "Planet of the Apes" once the smoke of battle clears again. :|

This solution will come by itself, without us file big effort. People slowly begin to understand that the U.S. is not quite so good as original look .. and people power is an invincible

I'm not so optimistic about this self-solution as You, Faw_Peter, I think that nothing comes by itself. We need another active power on the worlds political scene - a kind of political counterbalance. Then US would be checkmated. This could be Europe but in another form of union - a citizen union. And if it isn't Europe, It will be China (for ex.). We could have enough power to help Giorgia, but we are lost in our arguments. There is a saying: "When there are 6 cooks, there isn't anything to eat..."

My country does not give the prize to people who MOST deserve it. The Nobel Peace Prize is given because they are:
1). Women
2). Third World citizens
3). Non-whites
It´s a popularity contest. But if my country cannot find these people then they will give the prize to someone who REALLY deserves it. The Nobel Prize ceremony is strictly for the purpose of saying,
"Hey, everybody look! In Sweden we are not chauvenists or racists!"

But I also strongly regret it. It is a pity. No motivation for doing good thing for this world we live in.
I wrote it, becouse I want to underline that nothing comes by itself. And that Europes society still keeps their eyes fixed on US... in rapture... And I am - like You - against it. There are other possibilities and role models to follow. Thats all.
