I was looking through a college book for colleges that offer marine biology. I came to a college that offers both marine biology and aquatic biology. I always thought it was the same thing. Can you help me?

Aquatic biology is like marine biology in that you study the ecology and behavior of plants, animals, and microbes living water; however, instead of focusing on salt water, aquatic biology majors study freshwater inland lakes, ponds, rivers, creeks, and wetlands.

Marine biology only refers to biology in seas and oceans, with salt water. Aquatic biology obviously also can refer to fresh-water biology and therefore is an umbrella term for all life associated with water, more or less.
